“Medicine Man: The Stan Brock Story” Documentary Screening at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre on October 19
Moscow, Idaho – On Saturday, October 19, the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow will host a special screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, “Medicine Man: The Stan Brock Story”, with two showings at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. This powerful film chronicles the life and legacy of Stan Brock, founder of Remote Area Medical (RAM), a nonprofit organization that delivers free healthcare services to underserved communities around the world.
The 2:00 PM screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring the film’s director, key stakeholders, and healthcare professionals, providing a unique opportunity for the audience to engage in a conversation about the challenges of healthcare access, both globally and locally.
This event is presented by the Snake River Community Clinic and North Idaho Area Health Education Center (AHEC), two organizations dedicated to expanding access to essential healthcare services in the region. Snake River Community Clinic, a nonprofit healthcare provider in Lewiston, has been serving low-income and uninsured individuals with critical medical, dental, and mental health services for years. By supporting this documentary screening, the clinic aims to raise awareness about the importance of affordable healthcare and mobilize community efforts to address local health disparities.
North Idaho AHEC is also a key partner in this event, focusing on educating and empowering future healthcare providers to serve rural and underserved populations. Their mission aligns with the legacy of Stan Brock, whose efforts brought healthcare to remote areas lacking proper medical infrastructure.
“Medicine Man: The Stan Brock Story” captures Brock’s remarkable journey from a cowboy in the Amazon to an international healthcare advocate, driven by a mission to provide free healthcare to those in need. His work, through RAM, echoes the mission of Snake River Community Clinic and North Idaho AHEC to bridge the healthcare gap for underserved populations.
This screening is an excellent opportunity for community members to learn about these ongoing efforts and join the discussion on improving access to healthcare in Idaho and beyond.
