Suzanne Johnson Is Named New CEO of TCUW

LEWISTON, Idaho – Suzanne Johnson, who is the state director of Imagine Behavioral and Development Services, has been named CEO of Twin County United Way, TCUW officials have announced.

Johnson has been state director of Imagine since March of 2016. Imagine provides services to children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental disabilities throughout Idaho and Washington.

Johnson also is the co-founder of The Green Apple Project in the Lewis-Clark Valley. The Green Apple Project is a non-profit business committed to autism support, education and awareness in the area.

“We are very excited to have Suzanne Johnson join our team as CEO,” said Scott Corbitt, President of the TCUW Board of Directors and CEO/President of Valley Vision. “She brings a great mix of senior non-profit leadership experience with extensive local knowledge that we felt was critical for our CEO. We feel Suzanne is the right person to help maximize the Twin County United Way’s impact on the Valley moving forward.

Johnson replaces Sam Skinner, who resigned in late 2019 after more than four years at the helm. Johnson will begin her new duties on May 11.

Johnson was raised in Lewiston. She attended Boise State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English in 2002 and a master’s in Business Administration in 2018.

In 2007, Johnson was named branch manager of SL Start/Imagine Developmental Services, and then two years later became director of Inclusion North, which works with people with development disabilities to help them participate in experiences that are typical or average for individuals in daily life. In 2011, she became the North Idaho workforce and family services regional manager for Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest. She held that position for nearly five years before joining Imagine Behavioral  and Developmental Services.

TCUW works to better the health, education and financial stability of people in Asotin and Nez Perce counties. It’s mission is to identify needs, unite people, share resources and improve lives. The nonprofit organization raises more than $400,000 each year to financially support programs from more than 25 local nonprofit agencies that focus on health, education and income. TCUW also conducts Kindergarten Boot Camps each summer, in conjunction with the Lewiston and Clarkston school districts, to help ensure children have the essential skills they need to begin school ready to succeed.
