Twin County United Way’s 25 Annual Day of Caring
Twin County United Way’s 25th annual Day of Caring is happening this Friday, May 6th.
This year, the event has combined with Refresh the Valley and the LC Valley Chamber’s current Leadership Class. There are over 250 individuals from 20 local businesses volunteering at over 20 nonprofit sites in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley (applications are closed). The projects include painting, weeding, planting flowers, organizing, cleanup and other various jobs in the two cities.
The event, presented by Regence BlueShield of Idaho, brings together local businesses, employees and community groups. This day gives local nonprofits assistance that they may otherwise have to pay for and highlights the important work they do.
Volunteers start their day at the Lewiston Community Center, located at 1424 Main St. in Lewiston, for the event kickoff. Volunteers then head out and work during the morning before returning to the community center for a free lunch sponsored by Fazzari’s.
Other sponsors for the day include Art Beat as the T-shirt sponsor and P1FCU, Tri-State Memorial Hospital and the LC Valley Chamber as Team Sponsors.
For more information, call the TCUW office at 208-743-6594 between the hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
