Twin County United Way Honors Supporters, Announces 2017-2019 Board Officers at Annual Banquet
Nonprofit partners will receive $445,550 in Community Fund grants
LEWISTON – The Twin County United Way held its annual banquet on Wednesday at the Red Lion Hotel in Lewiston. The breakfast event, presented by P1FCU, recognized businesses, individuals and organizations that support the Twin County United Way and its nonprofit partners.
Thirty-one local nonprofit programs will receive $445,550 during the second year of two-year Community Fund grants. This is up slightly from last yearÂ’s $443,468 which was disbursed between July 2016 and June 2017. Community Funds are raised during campaign to support education, income and health and grants are awarded nonprofits for programs working to meet needs and address community needs in these areas.
Thanks and recognition was given to the 2016 campaign chairs – Janis Forsmann, from Clearwater Paper, and Cathy Jo Witters, from Stonebraker McQuary – and local loaned executives and the businesses who “loan” the Twin County these executives to help promote the United Way during its annual campaign.
P1FCU, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Regence BlueShield of Idaho and FazzariÂ’s Finest were honored with Spirit of Caring Awards, which recognize businesses that support the Twin County United Way in an outstanding way. Janis Van Hook received the Volunteer of the Year award.
Twin County United Way board members Bev Kloepfer, Tony Mastroberardino and Janis Forsmann were all recognized for 10 years of board service. Additionally, Forsmann and Susan Colburn were honored with “Time, Talent and Treasure” awards for their significant, and long-time contributions of all three to the United Way. Cathy Jo Witters was named Board Member of the Year and Travis Myklebust was named Rookie Board Member of the Year.
The event concluded with current United Way Board President, Tim Barker, passing the gavel to incoming Board President, Kim Casey and announcing the Twin County United Way officers for 2017-2019 term. Casey, who previously held the Vice President position, will serve with Travis Myklebust as Vice-President, Troy Sandvick as Treasurer and Heather Weeks as Secretary. Barker will serve as Past President.
