The Twin County United Way focuses on advancing education, income and health – the building blocks for a good quality of life. The Twin County United Way considers nonprofit programs working locally in these three areas for Community Fund grants.

Income

By working together, we can build a stronger community where people are able to earn a livable wage and manage their assets and debt. The Twin County United Way places a priority on supporting income-focused programs that:

  • Increase financial stability for individuals and families
  • Provide knowledge and support to better manage income, savings and assets
  • Teach skills to obtain jobs that provide a livable wage
  • Increase access to affordable housing

Education

By working together, we can help every child unlock their full potential and empower the workforce of tomorrow. The Twin County United Way places a priority on funding education-supporting programs that:

  • Help children start school ready to succeed
  • Promote early grade level reading
  • Help children succeed at school and graduate on time
  • Assist students in pursuing college or post-secondary training

Health

By working together, we can build a healthier community. The Twin County United Way places a priority on supporting health-focused programs that:

  • Expand access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activities
  • Expand access to quality health care, including mental, dental, vision, prenatal and preventative care
  • Promote living in a healthy environment free from drugs, violence and/or abuse
  • Provide assistance for vulnerable or at-risk populations
