Advancing Education, Income and Health
The Twin County United Way focuses on advancing education, income and health – the building blocks for a good quality of life. The Twin County United Way considers nonprofit programs working locally in these three areas for Community Fund grants.
Income
By working together, we can build a stronger community where people are able to earn a livable wage and manage their assets and debt. The Twin County United Way places a priority on supporting income-focused programs that:
- Increase financial stability for individuals and families
- Provide knowledge and support to better manage income, savings and assets
- Teach skills to obtain jobs that provide a livable wage
- Increase access to affordable housing
Education
By working together, we can help every child unlock their full potential and empower the workforce of tomorrow. The Twin County United Way places a priority on funding education-supporting programs that:
- Help children start school ready to succeed
- Promote early grade level reading
- Help children succeed at school and graduate on time
- Assist students in pursuing college or post-secondary training
Health
By working together, we can build a healthier community. The Twin County United Way places a priority on supporting health-focused programs that:
- Expand access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activities
- Expand access to quality health care, including mental, dental, vision, prenatal and preventative care
- Promote living in a healthy environment free from drugs, violence and/or abuse
- Provide assistance for vulnerable or at-risk populations
