Twin County United Way Exceeds Campaign Goal

March 17, 2014-Tuesday: Twin County United Way (TCUW) closed its annual campaign at $750,148. Achieving this number sets the 2013 campaign $50,148 above the annual goal of $700.000. This is the best campaign in Twin County United Way history. Since its inception in 1950, Twin County United Way has raised over 21 million dollars in the Lewis-Clark Valley.

Twin County United WayÂ’s mission is to identify needs, unify people, share resources and improve lives in Nez Perce and Asotin Counties. TCUW started in the LC Valley in 1950, raising just over $26,000. Since then the annual campaign goal has risen to $700,000. This 2013 campaign makes only 3 times in 15 years to reach and exceed that goal.

The Community Impact Fund, from which local non-profit agencyÂ’s apply for funding for various projects in the area of Income Education and Health, has reached over $400,000. These funds are set to be distributed based on a completive grant process beginning in July 2014. These projects are focused on increasing financial stability for families, raising access to higher education and affordable healthcare among many other goals.

The 2014 campaign will kick off beginning of September and TCUW hopes to exceed $750,000 which is just one step closer to the ultimate goal of raising over 1 Million dollars in one campaign year. TCUWÂ’s ultimate goal is to meet all needs set by the Community Needs Assessment administered throughout the community. This assessment is focused on furthering the voice of the community members and bringing to light the real need among people.
